Hatchery establishment for African catfish fry production in mukono district, Uganda

The current project targets the production of African catfish fingerlings starting by 850,000 and increasing in subsequent years. The project which will be located in Mukono district (Uganda) has identified the key physical requirements of land and equipment as well as human resources. Marketing strategy as planned ensures a continous supply of catfish fingerlings throughout the year. This project proposal has been developmed by a team of trainees who participated during 2008 in Fish Culture Development training course which is annually hosted by the Egyptian International Centre for Agriculture (EICA). The project has been supervised by Dr. Abdel Rahman El Gamal.
