Tilapia culture &#8211; in particular red tilapia- represents about 83% of total tilapia aquaculture in Colombia (cages and ponds). In the same time, tilapia dominates total cage aquaculture as represented by 97% (22,593 tons) and followed -with a large distance- by trout (2%) leaving negligible quantity to other species.
