Most water bodies in the world are being exploited using various gears. Among such gears is what is seen here. It is a local gear made from palm fronds called \u201cborxe\u201d in the \u201cEwe\u201d <\/i>local language in Ghana and it is a fish trap. It is used in catching green tilapia (Tilapia zillii) and some other cichlids in the lake.<\/span><\/h1>\n

This picture was taken at the Volta Lake stretch at the Kpong landing site in the Lower Manya Krobo District of the Eastern Region of Ghana.<\/span><\/h1>\n
