Fisher folk along the Volta Lake by means of survival use the bamboo sticks to set traps for catching fish.\u00a0 The fisher folks put the bamboos together and form rafts with them. They serve as fish aggregating device (FADs). The bamboos trap the egg laying fishes and cuts short the reproduction cycle in the lake. Moreover, small fishes get also trapped before further growth and maturation.<\/p>\n
