This Tilapia has a small stomach and so would require a relatively long time to get its feed requirements and that is why dividing the daily ration into two (or more) feedings is usually practiced. In general and as the case of other fish species, the right match between the size of feed pellets and the mouth opening of fish is essential. In other words, if the smallest size of fish population can handle a 4-mm pellet, there is no reason to provide smaller pellets.
