The early stages takes place indoor under controlled conditions (incubators) as seen in one of the photos. The incubation and hatching is done for imported fertilized eggs of sturgeon hybrids within the genus Acipenser.<\/span><\/p>\n

As shown in the remaining photos, the Indoor-produced sturgeon fingerlings are moved to tanks of relatively small volumes located out-door roofed installations in an intermediate phase whereas fingerlings are stocked and grown until reaching appropriate size to be stocked in floating cages in the “R\u00edo Negro” in a fattening phase whereas fish are grown until average weight appropriate for slaughtering that is between 1-2 kg.<\/span><\/p>\n

Even though feed used by the farm is considered confidential, it is believed that on-farm manufactured feed of about 35-38% crude protein is used with emphasis on its content of fish meal.<\/span><\/p>\n
