The local name of this artisanal fishing boat is \u201cAliyab\u201d after the name of Aliyab city in the state of Lakes where these boats are built by specialized boat builders. Boats are made of doum palm (gingerbread tree). The length of this type of fishing boat ranges from 3-4 meters.\u00a0 The number of fishing crew is 3-4 fishermen per boat. This photo is taken in the territory of Bor city (capital of Jonglei State). Usually fishermen train their children on fishing practices. The fishing licensing for these boats granted from fishery authority in the region.<\/span><\/p>\n
