En el pasado, aunque esta especie era popular en la pesca deportiva, no era apreciado por los consumidores, dado a su sabor jabonoso desagradable cuando lo cocinaban con la piel, o aun cuando la piel quedaba parcialmente pegada a los filetes. Una vez que limpien el filete, este es considerado un pescado excelente como alimento.\u00a0Esto puede explicar por qu\u00e9 en la mayor\u00eda de las exhibiciones de pescado, el r\u00f3balo se vende como filete.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong>\u00a0We decided not to watermark the photos in order not to upset its clarity.
