This photo shows an intensive cage farming of catfish in the Mekong Delta in Vietnam. The fish production in this system may reach up to 100 kg\/m3<\/sup>.\u00a0 In such intensive system, artificial feed is the only source used in fish nutrition which represents very high share in the production costs. Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) have directed local exporters to use \u201cbasa” as trade name Vietnamese catfish \u201ctra\u201d and \u201cbasa\u201d whose main markets are EU and USA.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
