Small-scale aquaculture in Rural Development (Features- Models- Promotion)

This lecture was delivered during November, 2014 in Fish Culture Development training course. This course is annually organized by the “Egyptian International Centre for Agriculture – EICA”.  This lecture focuses on small-scale aquaculture in rural development. The handling highlights the  features of rural societies especially in regard to aquaculture and criteria of appropriate fish species and systems. The models of small-scale fish farms include rice-fish farm, integrated farms and cages. The promotion of aquaculture projects required to provide examples of criteria of small-scale systems. It was necessary to address rate of adoption and simplicity concept.  the access for credit, The subsidy issue has been covered in more details. The lecture has been supported by photos for various practices as well as case studies.
