Feed preparation at farm level using different locally available raw materials was a common practice in the olden days. Now a day, farmers prefer to go for using floating pellets in carp farming. Some big feed manufacturing companies supply the formulated feed which may not be have the combination of ingredients as per the choice of some farmers.  Further, the cost of feed pellets is very high due to the transport, publicity, trader commissions at different levels, etc. Small-scale feed plants established by some progressive farmers with comparatively less investment offers fellow-farmers to get their feed ingredients to be palletised as per their choice. The plant owners will collect just making charges at the rate of kg of feed pellets prepared.
