Fish routing from the fishing boat to the landing site in Lake Nasser (Egypt)

The two photos show the fishing boats and carrier (messenger) boats. The fishermen wait for the arrival of the messenger boat which carries their requirements of living supplies as well as the ice. The messenger boat continues its trip to serve other fishing boats.  Once the ice is in place, the fishermen begin their fishing operation.  Captured fish are iced and temporarily stored whether in special containers in the fishing camp and/or on the fishing boat waiting for the come back of the carrier boat to carry captured fish to one of the three landing sites whereas the return trip can take -depending on the distance- from 1 – 3 days. The carrier boat is furnished with insulated storage which -in addition to icing- will serve keeping harvested fish in a good condition.

Note: We decided not to watermark the photos in order not to upset its clarity. However, we trust you will notify us if you wish to use a picture or more. This is expected and will be appreciated.
