The presentation starts with a fact sheet related to fish reproduction. Mode of fish production has been addressed and also the rationality of collecting fish production and fish seeds with a comparison with hatchery produced seeds. Fish sexual maturation in relation to influencing factors has been discussed in this presentation. Hatchery management is adequately addressed including key issues such as water in regard to quality and quantity as well as temperature and light. Hatchery technologies (natural – artificial) are covered on examples of aquatic organisms. The sources and maintenance of brood stock is addressed (e.g. feeding, overwintering).
