Pigmented eggs of Nile tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus

The photo shows the pigmented stage of the eggs of Nile tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus. Because tilapia eggs are opaque  and have tough chorions, special preparations will be required in order to examine tilapia eggs microscopically. The eyed stage will follow the pigmented phase shown in this photo.

Note: We decided not to watermark the photos in order not to upset its clarity. However, we trust you will notify us if you wish to use a picture or more. This will be appreciated.
