This photo shows a commercial hatchery of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) in Egypt during off-season. Egg incubators and fry nursing facilities are shown. Depending on the demand for tilapia fingerlings, the spawning season usually ends on September whereas hatcheries carry out necessary maintenance and overwinter broodstock and left-over fingerlings.
